Shane T Sprankel

Flutist/Arranger/Composer

Shane Sprankel is a performer, composer, and arranger located in Columbus, Ohio.  He is a founding member of WindCentric, a Central Ohio-based wind quintet, plays piccolo in the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, and performs with the Galileo Flute Quartet.

Shane's arranging style is focused on making the most of the instrumentation at hand.  He looks to use the colors of each instrument in unique, interesting, and complimentary ways.  He is thoughtful about the music he selects, with the target ensemble in mind.  

Shane holds Master of Music in Music Education with Kodaly Emphasis and Bachelor of Music in Music Education degrees from Capital University.  He has studied flute with Dr. Erin Helgeson Torres, Dr. Lisa Jelle, Dr. Kimberlee Goodman, Melody Jones, and Laura Portaro Kelbley
